Bio

Tanner Jensen is the Chief of Investigations for the Utah Department of Public Safety and oversees both the Statewide Information and Analysis Center (SIAC) and the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI). With over 18 years of law enforcement experience, Tanner has spent over a decade specializing in intelligence and counter-terrorism, including a four-year assignment to the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force and a yearlong fellowship at the National Counterterrorism Center in Washington, D.C. He leverages this deep background in intelligence and his six-year tenure directing the SIAC to navigate modern technological advancements and surveillance capabilities, focusing heavily on managing the critical balance between effective information collection and the protection of individual privacy rights. Tanner’s undergraduate degree in history is from Brigham Young University, and he is currently pursuing a Master of Public Safety degree from the University of Virginia. He is a Certified Threat Manager and an active member of the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals.
