Workshop Details
This workshop provides governmental entities with a foundational understanding of their statutory obligations regarding data breaches. Participants will learn to identify what constitutes a breach under Utah law and navigate the requirements for notifying both affected individuals and state authorities.
By attending, you’ll learn how to:
- Identify Statutory Obligations: Understand the legal requirements for Utah governmental entities under Utah Code.
- Define a Data Breach: Learn the specific criteria for “unauthorized access, acquisition, or disclosure” of personal data.
- Master Notification Procedures: Determine when, how, and to whom notices must be sent, including the Cyber Center and the Office of the Utah Attorney General
- Locate Resources: Access templates for incident reports, breach notices, and other best practice material.
