Data Subject Requests for Access
Practice Con -1

Summary
Under GRAMA a person may seek access to records by submitting a written request to the governmental entity that retains the record. This request must contain the person's name, mailing address, email address, and daytime telephone number. The request must also identify the records requested “with reasonable specificity”. In response to a request, the governmental entity must either provide the record or deny the records request. If the request is denied the governmental entity must inform the person of their right to appeal the denial.
